The older couple, played by Prakash Raj and Leela Samson in Ok Kanmani, was the pivot around which the youngsters revolved, and learnt life lessons. I can see Saathiya and listen to its lilting songs any number of times (its Tamil original Alaipayuthey is mandatory viewing for anyone interested in mainstream romance). And given that Shaad Ali did such a good job of the previous time he remade a Mani Ratnam film, it is even more surprising. Aditya Roy Kapoor has some nice bits too, but the whole enterprise is beset by a drabness, which is surprising because you can accuse Ratnam of anything but being drab. In Ok Jaanu, we can see Shraddha has progressed on the acting scale, and looks pretty and fresh. Adi (Aditya Roy Kapoor) and Tara (Shraddha Kapoor) do the obligatory meet cute, and follow that up with a too- stretched prelude which sees them cosily shacked up in a leafy bungalow under the protective eye of an elderly couple.

I'll try to elaborate this throughout the review.OK Jaanu movie review: Why do our young lovers sound so juvenile? Shaad Ali’s copy Ok Jaanu, with a screenplay by Ratnam, is faithful but pale and predictable, and doesn’t lift off the screen. They remake a movie which was made one year ago. Now see what the Hindi Film Industry does. Now if you apply common sense, you'll ask that why do film-makers remake old movies, right? Because they think they can improve upon the originals because of the technical advancements we have achieved throughout the years. All the movies are remakes of very old movies. Some of them are good, some of them are average and many fail but if you look closely you'll see one common thing.

Feel Shradha Kapoor and Aditya Kapoor looked so immature throughout the movie and their conversations were so fake. I feel movies made without passion end up like this. Should have gone for Dangal again (saw it once). Except Nasrudeen Shah everyone seemed like Siri is saying its dialogues in Hindi.

Like who does that without knowing each other. Dialogues were damn cheesy, the lead pair are talking for the first time on phone without even properly introduced and the are talking about kids, marriage n stuff. The chemistry between the lead actors was pale. There is absolutely nothing to write about this movie except the good songs.
